Over the years, controversies about the LYA have hinged predominantly on the purported wrong selection of nominees and the choice of some winners.
The awards, in the determination of its winners, is said to actually go through a thorough and genuine strategies, but for some fans and critics, the choices of some winners make them view it with skepticism.
The Liberty Young Archivers awards formerly Liberia Youth Awards came into recognition in 2018. It is aimed at recognizing outstanding youth in Liberia.The LYA award has been a very attractive masterpiece loved by most Liberian.

Award shows are critically acclaimed, especially in Liberia. Even the best award shows do not please every fans and media, but it should focus at reducing public controversy especially after the award show so that it won’t generate bigger problems even in years to come.
The Board’s decision to award Benita Urey Healing Liberia Foundation as Most Exceptional Charity Organization of the year created some mistrust for the scheme. Some fans were also in disbelief when Master Queen won the Media Personality of the year.
These occurrences and more have created doubts about the Awards, with many questioning the integrity and transparency of the scheme.
Maybe, there’s little or nothing LYA can really do to disabuse the minds of people on lack of transparency with the awards.
So, in fact, can we trust LYA at all?
