Basic Travel Requirements for Djiboutis visiting China

China Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements

Djiboutians intending to visit China for sightseeing, leisure, vacation or tourism purposes can apply for the Chinese tourist visa.The Chinese tourist visa is also known as the Type L visa. It is a short-stay visa valid for a period of 30 days.Djiboutian passport  with at least 6 months remaining validity and available blank pages, and a photocopy of passport’s data page. One accurately filled tourist visa application form.If traveling with an organized tour group, you might not have an individual visa in your passport.  Instead, the tour group will be issued a group tour visa bearing all the members’ names. In such a situation, supply your details to the travel agency beforehand and you will have no further concerns.If traveling independently, you need to handle visa affairs on your own.Documents showing the itinerary, including proof of round trip ticket booking and proof of hotel reservation are required.Applicants traveling alone are required to provide an invitation letter. If you are traveling with an official tour group, you do not need to provide an invitation.You must have a valid visa to exit China and you must leave China before the expiration of the listed duration of stay. The TAR (Tibet Autonomous Region) requires special permits for tourist travel, most often obtained through a Chinese travel agent. If you enter a restricted area without the requisite permit, you could be fined, taken into custody, and deported for illegal entry.Failure to register with the police within 24 hours of arrival in the country could result in fines and deportation. You can register with the hotel staff or the local police station. Local regulations require foreigners to carry valid passports and Chinese visas or residence permits at all times.Police, school administrators, transportation officials, and hotel staff may check your visa to make sure you have not overstayed. If you overstay your visa’s duration, you may be denied service by hotels, airports and train stations, as well as face fines and detention.Police regularly conduct unannounced drug tests on people suspected of drug use – including foreign citizens. Police may require you to provide a urine, blood, or hair follicle sample on short notice, and may force you to participate in the collection. 

China Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

Djiboutians intending to travel to China for commercial and trade activities can apply for the Chinese business visaDjiboutians can apply for the business visa if they want to travel to China to attend any of the following:Business meetingsSummits.Conferences.Visiting clients and factories.Trade fairs, etc.You are required to submit an invitation letter from the partner Chinese company serving as your host in the country. The invitation letter should contain the following:Your full name, gender, date of birth and other biographical information.The purpose of your visit to China and how long you intend to stay in China.Proof of accommodation such as a hotel address and contact details of the hotel.Your arrival and departure dates.Financial source to cover your entire stay in China.Proof of previous relations between you and the partner company.Your host’s name, contact details and the official stamp and signature of the legal representative of your Chinese host.If you are attending a trade fair or conference, you should provide proof of registration or invitation.The business license of your company or certificated business license by the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry must be submitted too.You are required to submit your bank statements for the last 3 months as proof of financial means.

China Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

A Chinese student visa is available for Djiboutians who have intentions to study in China. Applicant’s original passport valid up to at least six months with at least one blank page is required.One accurately and truthfully completed China Student Visa Application form. Affix one recent passport-style colour photo with a full face, front view, no hat, and against a plain light background onto the application form.Original and a copy of Admission Notice from the Chinese university or school.Original and a copy of approved Foreign Student Visa Application Form JW201 or JW202. The JW201 or JW202 form should be obtained through the school you are to enrol at. JW201 form is issued to international students dispatched by government or funded by Chinese government scholarships while JW202 is for self-sponsored foreign students.You may submit the application to the consular office of the Chinese embassies, consulates, or China Visa Application Centers (CVASC) in person.Mailed applications are refused by most Chinese embassies or consulates, but acceptable in many CVASCs. An appointment is not required by most embassies and consulates. But if you are required to submit the application to CVASC, you may need to make an online appointment via CVASC’s website.
