It is a common occurrence that during election year, the big political parties notably the NPP and the NDC employ the services of entertainment personalities to spread their campaign messages. Some of these celebrities who usually have large fanbases try to persuade their followers to vote massively for a particular political party. A typically example is Agya Koo who openly and vigorously campaigned for the New Patriotic Party.
However, a Kumawood actress by name Gloria Kani, who campaigned for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2016 presidential elections, has said that she won’t have the time to campaign for the NDC come December this year. In an interview with Zionfelix on his YouTube channel, she said that she now will be campaigning for Jesus Christ.
When asked the sudden change of heart, she said that though she will cast her vote, she just won’t be following the NDC around on its campaign trail. Moreover, she said when she campaigns for any presidential candidate and that presidential candidate fails to deliver, people will hold her responsible. After all, they would say she convinced them to vote for a particular candidate.
According to her, she would rather campaign for God because she can testify that God does not disappoint. God says something and it comes to pass. So her resolution is that this year though she’ll vote, she won’t be spotted on the campaign train of the National Democratic Congress in 2016.
Gloria Kani is a Kumawood actress who massively campaigned for the National Democratic Congress’ presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama in the 2016 presidential elections. An election which the NDC lost with a big margin of about a million votes.
