Dr. Jeffrey’s work has been published in several articles in the scientific literature. He has also co-edited and edited around 17 books. His new book on schizophrenia is scheduled to be released in 2022.
Jeffrey Lieberman Suspension Amid Racist Tweet: What did Jeffrey Lieberman say?
Jeffrey Lieberman got suspended from Columbia University as the chair of the Psychiatry Department at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He also got removed from his position as the Psychiatrist-in-Chief at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Columbia is yet to confirm the suspension, but a letter of suspension got posted on Twitter on Wednesday, reports Medscape.
On Monday, Dr. Lieberman retweeted a post related to Nyakim Gatwech, an Ethiopian-born American model. The tweet was called racist as it talked about the model’s skin tone. He got criticized for calling the South Sudanese model a “freak of nature.”

The tweet has since been deleted, and the model responded to the tweet on her Instagram account. Nyakim revealed that the rumor and such tweets have negatively impacted her as she has worked hard to build her platform.
Jeffrey received immense criticism for his tweet from other Black women in the medical field.
