King of Hipco: Christoph and Chiller Coolnanee battle for supremacy

Bucky Raw and Nasseman are arguably the kings of Trapo and Reggae/Dancehall respectively but who is the king of Hipco?

Whether it’s spitting a flow on a diss track or competing for the number one spot, Hip-co artistes are always into some type of battle.

Despite the fervor that Christoph has stirred in recent years, he is not the first rapper to place claim that he’s “the king of hipco”.

It has been the title that every Hip-co rapper across the country has fought for since the days that Takun J abdicated the throne.

It might have seem like why Christoph was trying to promote his newly diss track, he opened another controversy for the Hip-co crown with Chiller Coolnanee.

Both artistes wrote a song claiming to have received a crown from Hipco heavyweight Takun J but who actually didn’t receive the crown literally.

Chiller Coolnanee: In his lyrics on his song dubbed “Five For Five”, the artiste wrote: ” My boy Takun J just pass me the crown, am the new Hipco king”.

Christoph: In his latest diss track dubbed “Case Close”, the artiste said: “I’m the king of this shidd, and I got the crown from Takun J “.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown, and not everyone has the credibility.
