Ghana’s ‘Rockstar’ Kuami Eugene has been billed to perform at the upcoming 2018 MTN Liberia Music Awards, MusicLiberia.com gathers.
Kuami Eugene would be joining a tall list of Liberian musicians both home and the diaspora to serve Liberians with some of the hits from the continent.
The Ghanaian singer was nominated in the Best International Artiste category along with Flavour, Davido, Iyanya and Serge Baynaud.
Kuami Eugene billed to perform at the event is a clear indication that the he has won the award in advance.
The musician has had a very successful year and several industry persons have tipped him to win the overall Artiste of the Year at Ghana’s major award scheme Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Kuami Eugene himself said it would be a ‘disaster’ if he doesn’t win the Highlife Artiste of the Year.
Patapaa started 2018 as favourite of music fans and he was predicted in the first quarter of the year to be the Artiste of the Year but luck eluded him when he dissed Kuami Eugene in ‘Otetafo’. Kuami Eugene who had earlier on received backlash from Ghanaians for disrespecting Patapaa took over the baton to become the most sought after musician.
The MTN Liberia Music Awards awards ceremony which used to be held in the United States would be held in Liberia for the first time in December 2018.
