At the 2017 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, music fans were hit by a surprise when rapper Medikal had to go home without an award after being nominated in seven categories.
As one of the biggest rappers in Ghana, Medikal had a good year but unfortnately he had to compete other great musicians and songs on all the nominated categories.
Medikal lost all the categories including Hip Hop Song Of The Year where he had 4 songs nominated.
The case has repeated in Liberia and Stunna has been ‘Medikated’ in the just ended MTN Liberia Music Awards.

Stunna, who has been scouted by Universal Music had seven nominations just as Medikal. He was the second most nominated artiste after CIC who won the Artiste of the Year award.
Despite having a very successful year, Stunna lost all the seven categories including Song of the Year award where he was nominated twice.
Stunna’s ‘Baby O’ is one of the biggest songs released in the year under review but unfortunately ‘Boss Chick’ by C-Jay was deemed fit for the award by organizers and fans who voted.
Stunna isn’t alone. Hipco artiste Christoph The Change also went home empty ended despite releasing several of the industry’s hit songs.
