- What is the name of your album and what inspired you to name it?
Bridgin’ Da Gap is the name. I mean the name speaks for itself. What inspired me was coming in the game at a very young age, and I’ve been doing my homework trying figuring out a way that Liberia could be heard on the international stage and be loved by everyone no matter the race or culture. I feel like everyone in the industry is well-known and respected except Liberians. This Bridgin’ Da Gap album will change that! There’s a track on this album for everyone which will get the people involve and let them know that we can do the same thing they’re doing but even better.
2. Why is Make It the first song you released?
I come from Liberia and like I said we are not respected in this game so my first single is 2C “Make It” because I’m letting them know that we’re gonna make it no matter what! Nothing’s stopping us. If we can make it through fourteen years of civil war and struggles, what else can we not make it through? From where I started to where I’m at now, I’m definitely making it. The sky is the limit. God’s got me!
- How long did it take for you to record the album?
I told my manager sometime last year around September that of all the singles we’ve been releasing since we came in the game from 2004 till now and it was time to give the fans a finished product with all new songs. So let say 9 months strong!

- Who did you work with on the album?
Super producer Lasanna “Ace” Harris (Liberian American) and Citrus (Ruff n Smooth in house producer). Also my day 1 guy Charles Dunbar and my cousin Pryce who came along later and joined the team.
5. Does the whole album fit into a particular musical genre, or does it borrow from multiple forms?
I would say multiple forms because we have tracks on there for everyone to enjoy from afrobeat to pop, hip-hop, and even hipco. If I could even do a Chinese song, I wouldn’t mind adding it. Lol
- Were there particular songs, or even lines, which stick in your mind because of their lyrics?
Of course! Mostly all the songs I do always have a meaning. I will say the entire album. Some of my favorite songs are True Love, We All, Mama, and Mr. Mechanic. Just wait and pick up the album to see what I’m talking about. 🙂
- What’s your view on the Liberian Music Industry currently?
Honestly I’m proud to where we have come from where we started. It’s few artists along with myself that I can say we are here already and ready for the international challenge. What we have to know is that you can’t just jump up one day and say I’m an artist while making play play music and tag it “Liberian Music”. We have to perfect our craft seriously in order to be taken serious and compete with our international opponents.
- What keeps you going?
Believing in myself knowing that you never know how close you are so why give up? There is a photo online that I came across one day where a guy was underground digging for diamonds and just one more dig was gonna change his life forever but instead he got tired and quit while another guy who just started digging but was so energetic and passionate about succeeding he kept going. He wasn’t stopping because he wanted success. Every time, I see that photo I’m inspired. I want to be able to make a living out of this, retire my mom and dad and show the nonbelievers that whatever you put your mind to in life you can do it as long you’re focus, believe in God and work for it.
