Burma Boy is now a Grammy award-winning artist as he wins his first Grammy award at the premiere of the on-going 63rd Grammy awards show.
Burna Boy won the award for Global Music Album for his album, ‘Twice as Tall‘ beating fellow nominees, Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar, and Tinariwen.
Reacting to his win after he was announced winner, an excited Burna Boy said that, it is not just his win but one for Africans all over the world, and went on to encourage every African to also believe in what they are doing and be hopeful that, they can also achieve it.
“This is a big win for my generation of Africans all over the world“, he said.
“This should be a lesson to every African out there, no matter where you, no matter what you plan to do, you can achieve it because you are a king. Look at me now“, he added.
Though this is his very first win, it is, however, the second time Burna Boy has been nominated for this award. He was nominated last year in the same category which Angelique Kidjo beat him and others to win.
