Tom Barnard Biography
Tom Barnard is a well-reputed American talk radio host and former voice-over talent. Currently, He is the host of The KQ92 Morning Show from 5:40 am to 9:55 am on 92 KQRS. Additionally, he hosts the Tom Barnard Show on 105 The Ticket from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Both of his shows broadcast in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

Tom was born on November 7, 1951, as Thomas Mark-Paul Barnard. He was born in Long Prairie, Minnesota and raised in North Minneapolis, United States of America. Tom grew up with his six siblings. He and his siblings were all raised by a single mother.

Barnard worked at numerous stations including WDGY and KSTP before finally coming to KRQS. He was the booth announcer for KSTP-TV until 1986. He is known for being very reclusive, refusing virtually all media interviews and rarely making public appearances. The KQRS Morning Show has reached national and international audiences due to its podcasting technology.
On one morning Morning Show wrap-up, Barnard continuously mentioned that he’s planning to retire from live radio on December 21, 2012. Tom specifically said Terri would take over the Morning show, moments later the discussion moved to a “playoff” for the host during the year 2012. Tom explained that the 21st is a Friday and it’s just before Christmas.
Tom posted via Facebook that this will likely be the last year he does the KQ morning show and that he would like the show to continue after he’s gone instead of jeopardizing the jobs of everyone else who works on the show besides him.
He later signed a 4-year extension with KQRS in 2012. On March 29, 2013, Barnard announced on the air that he would be entering treatment for issues in regard to anger, not substance abuse as previously reported.
