Co-founder at Sleepless In Monrovia, Suma Massaley, popularly known on social media as Liberian Susu, is using her influence as one of Liberia’s most followed personality on social media to help those most vulnerable during the national lockdown. Suma took to social media to ask fellow Liberians to help her to help with food for those who can’t get regular meals due to the lockdown.
” The goal is to have donors understand how long the food will last these families and hopefully inspire & encourage them to continue to sponsor these families. Remember with just $25, you can feed a household for 1-2week so imagine what $100 will do in these challenging times”, she said after the first distributions were made.
As the “Stay At Home” orders continue to spread around the world, Liberia is also enforcing lockdown and social distancing regulations in the effort to flatten the curve of the deadly coronavirus.
The 21-day lockdown was recently been extended by an additional 60 days, following President Pro Tempo Albert Chie announcement on Friday, April 17. Suma Massaley and her Team have helped with Rice and Oil to 4 communities. Thinkers Village, Executive Inn, ELWA, and 72nd.
